Sources of Funding
Northwestern Legal Services is primarily funded by grants from federal and state
governments. On the federal level, NWLS receives a grant from the Legal Services Corporation.
On the state
level, NWLS receives funds distributed through
Pennsylvania Legal
Aid Network. This includes funding from Title
XX, The Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts,
Disability Advocacy Program, Homeless Prevention and Rapid
Re-housing Program, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Access to Justice
Act, PA Housing Finance Agency, and the Community Action Association of
Pennsylvania, and funds allocated to Legal Services by the
Pennsylvania General Assembly.
NWLS is grateful for any personal contributions. NWLS is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit corporation.
