Erie County has a population of 280,843 (2000 Census), the largest of any county in the NWLS program region. More than 44,500 low-income individuals in the county are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing about 40 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 1,690 cases for Erie County residents, nearly 39 percent of our entire caseload.

Mercer County has a population of 120,293 (2000 Census), and ranks second in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 17,900 low-income individuals in the county are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing about 16 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 688 cases for Mercer County residents, 15.7 percent of our entire caseload. Number of Cases by County

Crawford County has a population of 90,366 (2000 Census), and ranks third in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 15,450 low-income individuals are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing about 14 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 582 cases for Crawford County residents, 13.3 percent of our entire caseload.

Venango County has a population of 57,565 (2000 Census), and ranks fourth in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 10,450 low-income individuals in the county are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing 9.4 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 453 cases for Venango County residents, 10.3 percent of our entire caseload.

McKean County has a population of 45,936 (2000 Census), and ranks fifth in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 7,600 low-income individuals are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing about 7 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 449 cases for McKean County residents, slightly over 10.2 percent of our entire caseload.

Warren County has a population of 43,863 (2000 Census), and ranks sixth in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 6,100 low-income individuals are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing 5.5 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 266 cases for Warren County residents, about 6.1 percent of our entire caseload.

Elk County has a population of 35,112 (2000 Census), and ranks seventh in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 3,600 low-income residents are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing 3.3 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 108 cases for Elk County residents, 2.5 percent of our entire caseload.

Potter County has a population of 18,080 (2000 Census), and ranks eighth in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 3,200 low-income individuals are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing about 3 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 45 cases for Potter County residents, about 1 percent of our entire caseload.

Cameron County has a population of 5,974 (2000 Census), and ranks ninth in population size in the NWLS program region. More than 900 low-income residents are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing .8 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 20 cases for Cameron County residents, .5 percent of our entire caseload.

Forest County has a population of 4,946 (2000 Census), the smallest of any county in the NWLS program region. More than 1,100 low-income individuals are eligible for legal services (125% of federal poverty guidelines), a poverty population representing 1 percent of the NWLS region as a whole. In 2005, NWLS closed 10 cases for Forest County residents, about .2 percent of our entire caseload.
